NEOM HOSPITAL PATIENT CHARTER

BEING A PATIENT AT NEOM HOSPITAL, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO

  • Know your rights and responsibilities
  • Open a medical file at no expenses
  • Expect respectful care without discrimination as to race, color, religion, sex, nationality or source of payment of hospital bill and that your values, beliefs & spiritual needs will be respected.
  • Choose your treating physician, & ask for second opinion if you want as per the hospital regulation.
  • Know the identity & specialty of the attending physician & all members involved in the care plan team.
  • Ask staff and other healthcare professionals to follow the utmost infection control practices for you and your family’s safety.
  • Receive a reasonable explanation & information relevant to your diagnosis, management plan, treatment & expected outcomes & to have the chance to ask questions & have clear answers before you sign any consent form.
  • Prohibit limiting patients to a specific pharmacy, hospital, or laboratory without giving them the right to choose.
  • A follow-up visit free of charge within fourteen days of the initial visit
  • Get a pain assessment & management during your stay
  • Refuse on your responsibility to undergo a test or intervention or stay in the hospital.
  • Prohibit keeping newborns or corpse due to unpaid medical debt
  • Be treated with privacy where all your medical & non-medical information to be kept with confidentiality consistent with providing you adequate medical care & consistent with the hospital and kingdom rules & regulation.
  • Get copies of your medical reports upon request.
  • Be transferred to another hospital upon your request if your condition permits the transfer.
  • Know the estimated cost for any required admission or procedure & receive adequate explanation of the charges in Arabic
  • Receive the right treatment in the right time without any discrimination as to socioeconomic status and according to the policies and procedures of treatment eligibility of the facility.
  • Be free from invasion of privacy using photography or videography as when required, pictures and videos will only be taken upon your permission and only to be used for scientific purposes.
  • Express your concerns, suggestions, compliment, ethical inquiry or submit a complaint & receive feedback
  • Be treated in a safe and secured environment.

PATIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

IN ORDER TO PROVIDE YOU WITH AN OPTIMAL CARE, WE EXPECT FROM YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TO ASSUME THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide the treating physician & care providers with adequate & accurate information about past illnesses, hospitalization, medication & other matters relating to your health history.
  • Cooperate with all hospital personnel & ask questions if you don't understand direction & procedures
  • Not to take any drug that has not been prescribed by your physician
  • Comply with the hospital rules & regulations in case of refusing the planned diagnostic therapeutic or surgical procedure
  • Be considerate of other patients & ask your visitors to be so as well
  • Be accountable of paying for all services rendered. A patient is mandated to settle his bill prior to discharge having paid his/her entire medical bill or submitting the approval of contracted third party payers.
  • Respect all hospital staff and treat them in an appropriate manner.
  • Photography within the hospital facilities without permission is strictly prohibited.
